Enlisted as a private in Company E on 4/9/1862 at Lawrenceville, GA. Value of horse $200 and horse equipment $30. Paroled at City Point, VA 11/16/1862 but date and place of capture not stated. Sent home to get a horse in March/April 1863. Promoted to Lt on 10/9/1863. Sent to GA to get a horse with Capt Bostick on 9/20/1864. Last record, a requisition for forage dated 11/20/1864. Other records indicate that he was a captain by March 1865. After the war, worked as a farm laborer and then a store clerk in Gwinnett County.
