Lankford Nathan M., Sgt., Enlisted 4/24/62, Stone Mountain, Promoted Cpl 12/31/62, Promoted Sgt 2/15/63, 11/1/64 listed as deserted. 1850 Census list Nathan M. Lankford age 8 living Gwinnett Co. in the household of Curtis C. Lankford, a farmer. PR Applied Dekalb Co 9/18/08. He was born 4/22/43 in Gwinnett Co, 64 years of age at the time. He was sick in Hospital at Savannah, GA 11/64, furloughed 1/65, never able to return to command. He never got well until 1866. Witness W.P. Brown stated that Lankford left command sick 9/64 and was never able to return by authority of physicians in command. Witness Brother W.P. Lankford stated that he was sent home on furlough with chills and fever 11/64. Nathan Lankford died 6/5/20 in Dekalb Co. Widow Mary applied in Dekalb Co 9/29/21. Nathan M. Lankford married Mary E. (Lizzie) McElroy in Dekalb Co 11/14/67. She had been a resident of Dekalb Co since 2/9/49. Witness for her J.E. McElroy.
