PR Widow applied 9/3/10 Gwinnett Co. she was born 1832 in GA. William P. Dickens married Miss. Caroline Stone 10/25/51 in Dekalb Co. William died 6/1/99 in Gwinnett Co. Caroline died 9/2/26 in Gwinnett Co. Eli Dickens applied for funeral expense. Caroline stated that William enlisted 8/1/63 at Charleston, SC, that he was home sick at the time of the surrender. He left the command at Cedar Run, VA, he was sent home on a 60 day sick furlough 11/64. He had Dropsy which he contracted in the service. He was never able to return to the command. Witness J.T. Jordan, E.C. Lanford, and W.P. Brown confirmed widow's statement. W.P.(Deacon) Dickens 9/17/21 - 6/8/99 buried Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
