Dunn James G., Pvt., Enlisted 11/14/63, Charleston, SC, In hospital Charlotte, NC 9/10/64, 11/1/64 listed as absent sick. 1850 Census list James Dunn age 5 living Gwinnett Co. in the household of Daniel Dunn, a farmer. PR Applied 4/10/95 Gwinnett Co. born Gwinnett Co. 9/45. Enlisted James Island, SC 10/63, served 12 months, came home on furlough and did not go back. Joined Grahams Scouts for 6 months, discharged at time of surrender. Dunn was a farmer, and was not married. Witness W.P. Wynn lived by Dunn. Pension not allowed. Applied again in 1899. Stated that the furlough was for sickness, and when able, joined Grahams Scouts. Witness John W. Leopard. Pension not allowed. Applied again in 1900. Witness Peter F. Atkinson stated that Dunn had joined Grahams Scouts in Milton Co. 6 or 7 months before the end of the war. He was turned down again. Applied again in 1907. Witness James J. Green was not present at surrender, and stated that Dunn had gone home sick 10/64. Green was present when Dunn went to the hospital sick. Witness Peter F. Atkinson stated that both he and Dunn joined Grahams Scouts together and were sent to Savannah. J.G Dunn 9/11/45 - 4/1/15 buried Bethesda Methodist Church Cem.
