Hazlerigs W.B., Cpl., Enlisted 4/19/62, Stone Mountain, Promoted Cpl. 12/31/62, 2/64 with section in FL, Deserted Thunderbolt 8/3/64. 1850 Census list William Hazerigs age 23, a farmer, head of household, living Gwinnett Co. Wife Mary. PR Widow Mary applied Dekalb Co 4/6/07. She had been a resident of GA for 80 years, since she was born in Gwinnett Co 6/6/26. W.B. Hazlerigs was also born in Gwinnett Co in 1826. W.B. Hazlerigs married Mary E. Brown in Gwinnett Co in 1848. He died in Dekalb Co 7/9/06. At the time of her application, she was supported by her children. She stated that W.B. had come home 2/65 on sick furlough by authority of doctors. Witness' S.S. Scudder and W.C. Maloney confirm that she was born in Gwinnett Co. Maloney states that he was with the command at the surrender, but that Hazlerigs was not. He left the command when left at the Hospital in Charlotte, NC in 1864 by authority of the officer in command. Witness E.C Lanford stated that neither were with the command at the surrender, and that he was with W.B. when he was sent to the hospital 12/64.
